Mietta Postlethwaite

Mietta Postlethwaite is a young emerging textile designer who has just completed her final year of study of a Bachelor of Arts in Textile Design at RMIT, Melbourne.

She has had professional experience with Pattern Source, Country Road, Linen House, Maxwell and Williams and RASV through university projects and has had designs exhibited at Melbourne Spring Fashion week 2015. Most recently she has started to do freelance work for Way Funky, a swimwear brand.

She has also completed an eight month paid internship with Target’s Childrenswear design team where her professional skills have been honed and specialized to a
commercial field.

Printed conversational motifs are the main focus of her work. Her objective is to create bright and engaging patterns so that people form a sentimental attachment to the fabric and the design itself.
